A film by new writer Joyce Treasure, BE MINE was commissioned as part of BBC3’s Bollywood Shorts season looking for new writing talent to fuse Bollywood themes and styles with UK film works.
Tina wants what she can’t have- her Dad back. Instead of accepting this reality her focus on a magical chopper bike and resentment of her wayward brother starts to fuel an overactive imagination- in which her garden looks like Kansas and their local park life becomes a Busby Berkeley spectacle. Only Mum is there to help set her straight.
I was brought on to direct this new work starring Maxine Peake (Shameless) to create a bonkers Brummie musical hybrid.
