In 2024 Bristol Photo Festival asked Esther to head up her local high street, Church Road, and make portraits of strangers. Here are some of images and words that emerged when strangers were asked to imagine the spirits of people and places that they’d once known, people who had generated kindnesses or wisdom. They brought up a memory of this significant someone or something and then we made a picture. 

This work was featured in Mshed Museum as part of ‘Dreamlines: Picturing Bristol High Streets’, alongside other great artists works all focusing on the high streets and communities of Bristol.
